How does a VPN work?
A VPN works by creating an encrypted connection between your device and a private VPN server.
This connection is called a VPN tunnel and the VPN will use a range of VPN protocols to transfer data.
How a VPN works
A VPN creates an encrypted tunnel between your device and a remote server.
By encrypting your data and sending it through the tunnel, the VPN prevents Internet Service Providers (ISPs), governments and hackers from spying on your network activity.
Once your traffic reaches the VPN server, it is decrypted and sent to the website or application you are using. This has the effect of hiding your IP address, as the connection is relayed from the VPN server's location rather than yours.
In short, the VPN encrypts your Internet traffic data and replaces your IP address with the IP address of the server you are connecting to.
