Checking for operating system updates

As a rule, you should apply the operating system updates provided by your supplier. Doing so will address security vulnerabilities, add new features and - where relevant here - speed things up. Sometimes, Android updates will improve performance or fix issues that may be causing performance degradation. Running the latest version of Android is essential for speed and may be a quick solution to a problem. In other words: it doesn't hurt!

To speed up a slower Android phone, check for updates: open the Settings app on your Android phone and tap on Software Update.

Click on Check for updates or download the update manually.
