Why can't we judge VPN based on the number of servers?

When choosing a VPN company, you need to consider many factors, such as whether they can provide good speeds? Do they have apps suitable for all my devices? Are they well-known and credible?

A question people often ask is "how many servers do they have?" It makes sense to say that, because a successful VPN company should have a large number of servers. The more servers, the faster they run, right? The result may not be the case.

The server is not a panacea.

These servers come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some are designed to run high-performance applications, such as databases, and others are used to provide Web content. Some are of course determined by the VPN server.

Depending on the workload that needs to be handled, the servers are different, which is a good phenomenon. This means that you can get proper performance without wasting resources. To meet these needs, manufacturers provide a large number of processors, memory, and storage options so that savvy buyers can get exactly what they want.

Service choices will change with location, as technology matures and new products are released.

When it comes to servers, new does not necessarily mean better.

In fact, older servers are usually more suitable for VPN servers because they usually provide more cores and may even provide multiple CPUs, which is relatively rare in modern products.

It is also important to consider what the server is doing. Because of this, even if a company has a thousand brand new shiny servers, it does not mean that they can work with 500 reliable old servers. This may be the case, but only when you have a good benchmark can you know your own situation.

However, considering VPN providers, the number of servers is limited in value, and there is a more convincing reason: bandwidth.
