What is the difference between IPSec and IKEv2?

IPSec

IPSec, also known as Internet Protocol Security, is a set of protocols used to protect Internet protocol (IP) data transmission and communication, or simply, Internet communication. IPSec authenticates and encrypts each data packet during the connection to establish a secure connection.

IKEv2

IKEv2 (InternetKeyExchangeVersion2) is the second generation of secure key exchange standard. IKEv2 uses ipsec to establish a secure connection. One of the biggest advantages of IKEv2 is that it can be quickly reconnected when a VPN connection is broken. IKEv2 is the best choice on Windows and iOS for fast recovery and encryption.
